Veterinarian

Neuralink is developing ultra-high bandwidth brain-machine interfaces to connect humans and computers. We are building a team of multidisciplinary experts passionate about making a world-changing impact.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Direct the veterinary technical team and oversee all vivarium operations
  • Ensure proper anesthesia and pain management for all surgerized patients
  • Complete pre-op exams, post-op care, and administer controlled substances
  • Provide veterinary care for a range of large and small animal species, including health monitoring and oversight of housing
  • Ensure compliance to all federal, state and voluntary animal welfare laws and regulations
  • Help to develop standard operating procedures for veterinary care and study implementation
  • Help research and clinical staff design and implement in vivo studies
  • Train technicians and study personnel on veterinary care, surgical procedures, and animal use laws and regulations
  • Member of the IACUC, including participation in semi-annual inspections

 

About you:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and skill in veterinary medical care and surgical techniques for large and small animals
  • Effective oral and written communication of veterinary and scientific information to technical, research, and clinical staff
  • Detailed knowledge of animal welfare regulations and best practices
  • A dedicated team player who thrives in a fast-paced team-focused environment
  • Prioritizes animal welfare and positive reinforcement practices

 

Key qualifications:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine
  • 4+ years of experience in laboratory animal medicine
  • Completion of residency in laboratory animal medicine
  • Proficient in GSuite
